“I look forward to seeing your farm grow and flourish and develop…”

Dear Jenna,

In this past Shabbat’s Torah portion, we read about how Jacob and his family left Haran heading towards the Promised Land together with their miraculously born flock of Jacob’s sheep as written: “and the animals bore ringed, spotted, and striped [young]”.

When I visited your farm on the Eitam, the eighth hili of Efrat and saw the flock of Jacob’s Sheep actually here in Efrat, I was overwhelmed with joy and enthusiasm. You have walked the path of our forefather and have succeeded in bringing these unique sheep back home to the land of our forefather Jacob (Yaakov).
I look forward to seeing your farm grow and flourish and develop into a center for preservation and education about these amazing sheep for all ages, Israelis as well as tourists.
As I already told you, we at the Efrat Municipality will extend as much assistance as possible for the
good of the farm.

Your success is ours as well!

A black and white photograph captures three Jacob Sheep standing in a row within a pen. Each sheep exhibits the characteristic black and white facial markings and patterned wool, along with horns of varying shapes. They are strongly backlit, creating bright halos of light around their wool. The background is a blurred light-toned wall and hay on the ground.
